Remember to always assume a line is energized and stay away from it.

Accidentally contacting a power line can be dangerous and, in some cases, even deadly. We want to help our members stay safe around power lines.

If a power line falls on your car you should stay inside the vehicle.

Electrical Safety & Generators

Preventing electrocutions associated with portable generators plugged into household circuits when power lines are down.

Be prepared for storms! 

To report an outage, call Brown County REA at (800) 658-2368 or (507) 794-3331.

If your lights go off during a storm, be prepared for the power outage. Assemble supplies to have on hand rather than rushing around when the storm is coming and waiting in long lines for milk or bread. Rotate your supplies to keep them fresh and use the following checklist to prepare for power outages:
